Soft Skills are transferrable skills that compliment hard skills (the technical requirements of the job). Soft skills measure your ability to handle the softer side of business; they determine how well your staff or you relate to and communicate with others; how well you motivate and encourage others; how well you manage relationships and influence others; the effectiveness of teams; the management of conflict; recruiting the right people; bringing the best out of others; presenting to others; self-management and so on. Developing soft skills is not an option it is essential. After all you can only grow your business to the extent you grow your people.
